Sports Integrity Australia (SIA) e-Learning

Education plays a critical role in protecting athletes, preventing doping, and maintaining the integrity of Australian sports.  To that end, Sports Integrity Australia (SIA) provides a range of educational resources for everyone participating in sport, from grassroots to elite-level athletes, their parents, teachers, coaches, and support personnel.

SIA e-Learning is a free, easy-to-use online education tool featuring online courses, videos, and learning updates.

•    The Level 1 Course allows everyone to learn about the key areas of anti-doping, such as prohibited substances and methods, Therapeutic Use Exemptions, doping control, and whereabouts. The interactive course comprises six modules and an assessment. The total time to complete this course is approximately 70 minutes.

•    The Level 2 Course is for athletes and support personnel who must stay updated on the latest anti-doping information. This course is updated annually to reflect current trends in anti-doping. A certificate is issued upon completion and expires on 31st December each year. The prerequisite for this course is the completion of the Level 1 course.

E-learning courses specific to coaches and medical/support personnel are also available.

Sample collection (doping control or drug testing) is essential to promoting and protecting doping-free sports.

Sample collection detects an athlete's use of a prohibited substance or prohibited method and consists of testing by an anti-doping organisation (such as Sports Integrity Australia) and sample analysis by a laboratory accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Sample collection can be either in-competition or out-of-competition (such as at an athlete’s training venue or home). The majority of testing is carried out with no advance notice. The test can involve the collection of urine, blood, or both.
