Artistic Swimming Australia (ASA) is the peak body for Artistic Swimming in Australia. ASA’s purpose is to lead the implementation of the whole of sport Strategy for Artistic Swimming in Australia.

Artistic Swimming Australia is entering into a pivotal phase as we look to take our high performance to new levels. We are currently recruiting a ‘General Manager of Performance and Pathways’ to work with the ASA Board and Committee to implement and monitor the high-performance strategy and plans.

About the role

The ‘GM Performance and Pathways’ will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of Artistic Swimming Australia’s High Performance Program, driving operational excellence and financial growth to boost participation. Your dynamic leadership will inspire the ASA community and the country to be a world-leading Artistic Swimming nation.

Reporting directly to the ASA Board, the key duties will include:

  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of the High Performance Program.
  • Lead and oversee the management of High Performance athletes, coaches, staff, and contractors.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day management and delivery of the operational plan for the HP Program.
  • Strengthen and maximise long-term relationships with key ASA partners and stakeholders.
  • Cultivate a positive culture aligned with ASA Values that fosters a supportive culture and promotes the holistic development of athletes.
  • Work closely with the Board to ensure all relevant High Performance activities comply with ASA’s policies and procedures.

This is a 2-year contract with the possibility of extension.

About you

Ideally, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications, skills, traits and experience:

  • Experience in the management and/or administration of HP sport programs at the national or international level.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Australian HP Sport System and international sporting landscape.
  • Proven ability to positively influence, engage, and develop working relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Experience in senior leadership, management, or high-level coaching positions.
  • Outstanding communication and people skills.
  • Excellent ability to manage competing priorities with strong organisation skills.
  • Genuine, motivated leader with strong resilience and keen self-awareness.

Position location

Ideally the successful applicant will reside in Western Australia. Other locations may be considered, and would require interstate travel.
