Artistic Swimming Australia welcomes Paula Klamburg Roque as the new Head Coach for the Australian Team.

Paula was selected after a global competitive search over the past months and will head up the new Hancock Prospecting National Centre in Perth.

Performance Director Richard Vaughan commented, "This is a very exciting time for Artistic Swimming in Australia as we lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.

We have a platform and opportunity never seen before for the sport in Australia. We have support for the development of a National Centre to get to events, direct athlete funding, and, most importantly, world-class coaches. I am delighted to confirm that we have secured a World Class coach Paula Klamburg Roque, a medal-winning athlete and outstanding coach from Spain."

Paula Klamburg Roque commented, "After winning an Olympic medal at the London 2012 Olympics and nine world championship medals during my career as an Artistic Swimmer, I decided I wanted to help others achieve similar success. I have been coaching the Junior national team of Spain for seven years, winning medals in solo, duo, and Team at many competitions. In addition, I have choreographed and coached countries like Mexico and Colombia and made routines that went to the Tokyo Olympics.

I always loved to grow and teach, so after an amazing last season as a Coach for Spain, winning the gold at the Junior World Championships, I can't wait for the next challenge becoming the senior head coach of Australia. I couldn't be more excited to bring all my knowledge and passion to the Team!

My first goal will be to recruit an excellent Assistant coach to help improve the technical elements of the Team'"

Paula will join the Team Australia Squad at the new National Centre in Perth as soon as her visa is approved.
