Published Thu 20 Jul 2023

Team Australia Junior Squad had a  second camp for the 2023 season.

The second camp of the season at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) between the 8-16 July. National Pathway Coach Krisztina Szedlak, Head Coach Emanuelle Mah, and Assistant Coach Alexandra Del Sorbo oversee the Team Australia Junior Squad.

8 junior athletes across Australia joined this camp. New South Wales (2), Queensland (1), and Western Australia (5).

The athletes successfully completed the training camp, now with 3 completed routines for the season - Junior Technical Team, Junior Free Team and Junior Acrobatic Routine. The athletes trained hard, refining the Technical Team and Acrobatic routines, continuing to refine them to the new World Aquatics (AQUA) Artistic Swimming rules, and also successfully completed learning the Free Team routine by the end of the camp. The athletes showed great focus and high motivation throughout the entirety of the camp. Everyone was so keen on learning and growing together.

The camp also consisted of a Sports Integrity Australia (SIA) workshop on Anti-Doping as well as an AIS-facilitated workshop focusing on international travel preparations for elite competitions. The AIS world-class facilities continue to support quality training for the athletes.

The Australian Junior Team plans to compete in Singapore at the end of the year.
