2024 - 2028 Team Australia Pathway Coach Applications Are Open!

As the new 2024 - 2028 Olympic Cycle is in sight, ASA is currently seeking EOI's from coaches around Australia for the 2024 - 2028 Team Australia Pathway Coach positions.

The Team Australia Pathway Coaches will fill the following positions:

  • Junior Squad  (Head Coach)
  •  Junior Squad (Assistant Coach) 
  • Junior Squad Development Coach
  •  Youth Squad (Head Coach) 
  •  Youth Squad (Assistant Coach) 
  • Youth Squad Development Coach
  • Emerging Squad (Head Coach) 
  • Emerging Squad (Assistant Coach)
  • Emerging Squad Development Coach

Who we are looking for:

  • Experienced coach, preferably with national team and international competition experience.
  • Valid coach accreditation
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the new World Aquatics (AQUA) scoring system
  • Ability to choreograph and coach team, duet, and solo routines 

We also support athletes transitioning to coaching, and they can apply here through the Athlete Transition programme.

The Team Australia Squads Coaching Staff positions are voluntary, and compensation will be granted based on National Squads training camps and the designated international competition for the year. 

The Team Australia Pathway coaches are supported through formal learning initiatives with the AIS, SIA and ASA. All Team Australia coaches will have Individual Coach Performance Plans; these outline support through formal qualification and experience/mentor-based learnings. For example, in the past year, ASA coaches have benefited from dedicated coach development programmes by the AIS, bespoke Sport Psychology Sessions, dedicated sessions with Allistair McCaw, grants to gain a formal qualification, and grants for learning experiences such as training with the Team USA Artistic Swimming Squad.
